Australian National Climate Risk Assessment.

The first draft of the Australian National Climate Risk Assessment, seemed to bypass the media.

It identified identified 56 nationally significant climate risks within 7 out of the 8 systems it looked at. 11 of these risks were identified as being of severe impact.

The priority risks cover

  • environmental stress;
  • agriculture and food;
  • outback living;
  • health and social support;
  • infrastructure;
  • defence and national security;
  • communities and settlement;
  • water security;
  • supply chains;
  • economy, trade and finance; and
  • governance.
